Brief 7 - Design Context - Image placement

Above is a number of experiments with solely image pages, which would follow the interview with the respective studio. There are a number of variations, some of which I think are working quite nicely, such as first example using the edges of the pages and having images that bleed of the page, however the placement definitely needs refining.

I also looked a pulling quotes from the questions to make the link between the image and text content, but I don't really like this as I think it makes it look magazine like, and I want a much cleaner aesthetic to run throughout.

I also looked at combining the image and text pages in order to break up the text further so that it doesn't look as heavy as having a solid block of text. I think this is really starting to work, however I still would like a spread for each studio that has no large columns of text on, so that the work is really showcased. As well as giving me opportunity to test various image layout.

There is a lot of columns that I think are quite obvious within the layout, which on the one hand I like, but on the other hand think make it look a little messy. I need to really play with these spreads and push what I can get out of them. Particularly important I think is the page numbering, as this is something that needs to run throughout but not be too intrusive on the content. Especially with an image rich layout like this it will be a case of trial and error once I have a double page spread I'm really happy with.
