Breif 4 - ISTD - Copper etching instead...

Positives

Developing

Developing process involves applying a light sensitive film to the copper plate by rolling it under pressure, which is then exposed to UV light with positives placed over. This is then placed in a bath of water and what is essentially washing up liquid which removes the unexposed parts of the image leaving the hardened, exposed image behind. These are then Post hardened by a second exposure so that the film left on the copper is no longer water soluble.

The plates are then placed in an etching tank where the exposed parts of the copper plate are eaten away leaving the text raised.
