Brief 4 - ISTD - contents cover experimentation

A bound on a slightly smaller format copper cover. I have bound this so that it sits in the middle of the booklet with an even gap to the edge of the page on all sides. I think this looks good, but much prefer the examples where the cover sits flush with the bottom edge.

Above is a wrap around example on a fairly pale cream stock, this is a nice subtle contrast to the white of the text pages and also gives a much better idea of how the wrap around cover will work. In theory a cover like this could alsobe bound on, and the inner side of the wrap around could be used for text and important information because of its placement.

A sewn on yellow cover, just looking at the possibility of using colour variation, however I think this may be a bit of a brash choice compared to the other colours I have used in the development on the project. This could be a good thing, however I think I prefer the red below to this as it is closer to the copper used previously.

A number of experiments with cover format and colour, as I want the contents to beon the cover I think it is important that these can be worked into the design effectively. I really like the wrap around covers, however I do not have any copper paper available in that size. Also with images on the front cover, I think it is important that I do not completely cover this detail as, the bound on cover allows for this to be seen easily whilst keeping a similar aesthetic and delivery of information as the wrap around.
